Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About the NDIS & Our Services

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia's government-funded program for people with permanent and significant disability. To be eligible, you must be under 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a qualifying visa, and have a permanent disability that significantly impacts your daily life. You can apply by calling the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or visiting ndis.gov.au. Orana can also help you through the access request process at no charge.

Getting started is simple. You can use the referral form on this page, call us on 0430 034 177, or send an email. You don't need a referral from a doctor or support coordinator — you can refer yourself. We'll arrange a free, no-obligation discovery call and guide you through every step from there.

Yes. Under the NDIS you have the right to choose and change your providers at any time. You simply need to give notice to your current provider as specified in your Service Agreement (usually 2 weeks). Orana will guide you through the transition process and ensure there is no gap in your supports.

Absolutely. We warmly welcome participants from all cultural backgrounds and life situations. While our team communicates in English, we can help connect you with professional interpreter services so language is never a barrier to getting the support you need. Our name "Orana" means welcome, and we mean it for everyone.

If you are NDIS-funded, Orana charges the NDIS directly — there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. We strictly follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025–26. Before any services begin, we provide you with a transparent quote and Service Agreement. There are never any hidden fees.

We take all feedback and complaints seriously. You can speak with your support worker, call our office, or submit feedback through our website. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544. You also have the right to involve a free disability advocate — we can help connect you.
